NorthEast United FC vs Mumbai City FC

It was yet another poor show by the NorthEast United FC team in the ISL 2022-23 as they were handed their 7th straight defeat by the Mumbai City FC team in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL). The Highlanders could not match up to the prowess of the Islanders as they suffered another defeat at home.

Mumbai City FC was quite clinical and except one goal from NorthEast United FC, everything went like clock-work for them. NorthEast United FC’s goalkeeper Mirshad Michu was on top of his game as he made 10 saves in the game. However, it was not enough to keep Mumbai City FC away from winning the game.

The opening goal was scored by Mumbai City FC’s Ahmed Jahuoh after he was awarded a controversial penalty by the referee. However, NorthEast United FC quickly equalised after a stupendous display of footballing prowess from Parthib Sundar Gogoi. He was one-on-one with the goalkeeper of Mumbai City FC Phurba Lachenpa and he scored with absolute finesse.

The leading goal-scorer of Mumbai City FC across all seasons, Bipin Singh scored a goal in the 27th minute to put Mumbai City FC ahead in the game. In the second half, Jorge Pereyra Diaz scored another goal and solidified Mumbai City FC’s position and grip in the game.

Marco Bulbul would be a disheartened man as his team suffered their 7th straight loss in ISL 2022-23 and are yet to open their account in terms of wins. Its an uphill task for them from here on.

Mumbai City FC is unbeaten in ISL 2022-23 so far

On the other hand, Des Buckingham’s Mumbai City FC are enjoying a fairy-tale run in ISL 2022-23 as they are the only unbeaten team so far. They have rocketed to the top position in the ISL 2022-23 points table and have registered 5 wins and 3 draws so far. They will next play FC Goa on 1st December, 2022.

On the other hand, the Highlander’s next assignment is an away game against a superior-looking Odisha FC. The match will be taking place on 2nd December, 2022.
