The fairy-tale journey of Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United ended on a bitter note after Cristiano Ronaldo’s explosive interview with famous broadcaster Piers Morgan in his show Piers Morgan Uncensored. Manchester United then took to social media that the two parties had mutually decided to terminate the former’s contract at the “Theatre of Dreams” club.
In the first official game after the Cristiano Ronaldo saga, Manchester United dedicated a 81-word programme farewell to the talismanic 37-year-old striker. Manchester United played against Burnley in the Carabao Cup and won the game 2-0. Christian Eriksen and Marcus Rashford netted the goals for the club. The Red Devils have now qualified to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.
In the United Review programme there was a feature with the title Worth Knowing. The club had described Ronaldo briefly in pages 6 and 7 in the programme.
“Cristiano Ronaldo left the club by mutual agreement last month. The Portuguese superstar scored 145 goals across two spells and 436 appearances, and helped us win three Premier League titles, one FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. Ronaldo was also crowned Ballon d’Or winner in 2008. In a statement on November 22, the club put on record its gratitude for Cristiano’s immense contribution and wished him and his family well for the future,” read the programme.

He left Juventus and joined the 20-time Premier League once again in 2021. Overall, Ronaldo has played 236 matches for Manchester United and has netted 103 goals for them.
Recently, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal team was knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2022 by Morocco in the quarter-finals. Youssef En-Nesyri was the lone goal-scorer in the tournament. It crushed the star Portuguese striker’s World Cup dream as this was potentially the 37-year-old’s last World Cup.
