Cristiano Ronaldo will be donning the captain’s band for the Portugal football team in the FIFA World Cup 2022. The stage is all set for Portugal and they will be locking horns with the Ghana football team today at 9:30 PM (IST).
Ahead of the game, star striker Ronaldo took to the micro-blogging platform Twitter to post a very motivational tweet. The tweet was pertaining to the Portugal football team’s campaign in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
“About to start our campaign in the biggest competition in the world. An adventure that we wish for long and full of successes, in order to raise the name and flag of our country very high. We want to fill all Portuguese people with pride and joy. Nothing is impossible! Strength” read the tweet of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be playing his 5th FIFA World Cup but has failed to win a single title yet. He would be eager to put his hands on the silverware and win it for his country. Apart from Ghana, South Korea and Uruguay are the other challengers of Portugal in their group.
The talismanic captain of Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo has so far made 18 appearances in the FIFA World Cup and has netted 7 goals. He also scored a hat-trick against Spain in the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.
Portugal will be a little varied as there have already been 2 upsets in the FIFA World Cup 2022 so far. Germany and Argentina have been beaten by lower-ranked teams Japan and Saudi Arabia respectively. Cristiano Ronaldo-led Portugal would not be complacent ahead of the game and would be hoping to get one over in the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Ever since his power-packed interview with broadcaster Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo has been in the news. He parted ways with Manchester United in a mutual consent way and now is a free agent. It remains to be seen which club Ronaldo would next play for.
