After an action-packed Match Week 1 in the ongoing Premier League 2023-24, Match Week 2 lived up to its billing as well. We witnessed some high-voltage clashes and the matches went right down to the wire.
One of the biggest games of this Match Week was Manchester United’s 0-2 defeat against Tottenham Hotspurs. Pape Matar had scored the goal for the Spurs and the other goal came via an own goal from Manchester United’s Lisandro Martinez.
Aston Villa blanked Everton 4-0 at the Villa Park. John McGinn, Douglas Luiz, Leon Bailey and Jhon Durand had scored the goals for Villa. A major upset in this Match Week was Chelsea’s 1-3 loss at the hands of West Ham.
The Hammers were absolutely stupendous in their approach and brought a new-look Chelsea side, down on their haunches. While Nayef Aguerd, Michail Antonio and Lucas Paqueta had scored the goals for West Ham, Carney Chukwuemeka had scored the sole goal for Chelsea.
Defending champions Manchester City registered their 2nd victory as they beat Newcastle United 1-0. Julian Alvarez had found his name on the goal-scoring sheet for the Cityzens.
Liverpool had beaten Bournemouth 3-1 and had stamped their authority in that Premier League 2023-24 game.
