Chelsea FC has finally landed the Belgian attacker Romelu Lukaku back at Stamford bridge. The European Champions had persistently made an effort throughout the summer to get Lukaku back at the English capital. The Striker joins the Blues from the Italian Champions Inter Milan for a transfer fee reportedly more than €100 million.
Before the eventual transfer, Inter Milan had denied two previous transfer bids from Chelsea FC, with the second being around €85 million. The transfer of Lukaku would certainly benefit the club in their bid to challenge for the Premier League and retain their Champions League title.
Romelu Lukaku Medical & Contract
Romelu Lukaku reportedly had the first part of his medical in Milan, before traveling to London. After traveling from Italy, The forward arrived in London and completed the second part of his Medical. The club and player are working on the final details of the contract.
Romelu Lukaku’s weekly salary is set to be around the £250,000 a week region. The club is expected to announce the signing of Lukaku very soon.
Lukaku is expected to be in the squad for the first game of the Premier League season for the Blues against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Lukaku completes a World record transfer:
The transfer to Chelsea would make Romelu Lukaku a holder of the world record in terms of transfer fees combined. His career transfer fee combined would be a mind-blowing €309 million.
He would be overtaking Neymar who has a combined transfer fee of € 271.7 million.
A return to the Premier League:
Romelu Lukaku has a lot of Premier League experience as he played. He signed for Chelsea FC themselves back in 2011 after completing a move from the Belgian club Anderlecht. He couldn’t find form at the Blues and was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion and Everton.
The Striker Signed Everton on a Permanent deal in 2014 and spent three seasons at the club scoring 68 goals for the Club.
In 2017, the striker completed his move to Manchester United where he spent two seasons and scored 28 goals.

With 113 goals in the Premier League, the 28 old Belgian is already considered one of the best players to play in the league. His next stint at Chelsea would just bolster his profile even more.

Werner in an interview with Sky Sports said that ” Lukaku is probably one of the three best strikers in the world at the moment.”
” I don’t think we need to say too much about Lukaku. He is a player who would benefit any team that he plays for” the German striker said.
Chelsea would probably have a front three of Havertz-Werner and Lukaku when the new season starts on Saturday.
It would be interesting to see how well Lukaku and Havertz link up in the attack. Thomas Tuchel could certainly opt to use the 4-4-2 or the 4-3-3 formation depending on what suits the team.
