Host team Kerala Blasters FC were the first to announce their squad for the upcoming Hero Super Cup 2023. After losing out to Bengaluru FC in the knock-outs in a rather unprecedented fashion, the Yellow Army would be hoping to stage a strong comeback in their home stadiums.
Kerala Blasters FC will be kick-starting their Super Cup 2023 campaign with a game against the I-League 2022-23 champions, RoundGlass Punjab FC. The match will be played on 8th April 2023 and will be taking place at the EMS Stadium in Kozhikode.
One of the key players of Kerala in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23, Adrian Luna will be not be a part of the Super Cup because of personal reasons. A lot of youngsters have been drafted in the squad in a bid to prepare themselves for the Durand Cup 2023 and ISL 2023-24.
“We are entering the race for the Hero Super Cup aiming for the title. The team is fully prepared for another competitive tournament, right after the Indian Super League. Along with foreign stars, determined home-grown talents will make the team complete in all sense and we are confident enough with their performance,” said Karolis Skinkys, who is the Sporting Director of Kerala Blasters FC.
