A few years ago, Barcelona had a formidable trio in their attacking department in the form of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar. The former two footballers have reunited at Inter Miami and will be playing together, evoking joy and happiness to both their fan bases.
Inter Miami recently penned down a deal with Luis Suarez and this was groundbreaking, to say the least. He has been reunited with the legendary Argentine striker and we can expect them to weave magic in the Major League Soccer (MLS).
Following his move from Brazilian club, Gremio, Luis Suarez attended the first training session of Inter Miami on Saturday. Former Barcelona players Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are also a part of Inter Miami and it forms a quartet of the former Catalan Giants.
Inter Miami is all set to play a friendly game against El Salvador on 19th January 2024. They will be then starting their “World Tour” as a preparation ahead of the high-voltage 2024 season.
David Beckham’s club is also set to go to Japan during this Pre-season tour as well as Hong Kong. They will also be locking horns with Saudi Pro League team, Al-Nassr, on 1st February 2024.
Notably, one of the greatest footballers of all time and Lionel Messi’s main competition, Cristiano Ronaldo, plays in Al-Nassr. Inter Miami will also be playing against Neymar’s Al-Hilal on 29th January 2024.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have played a lot of football together
The two legendary strikers have played a truckload of matches together. They have played 258 matches together and have had a joint goal participation of 99 goals. Inter Miami are sure to reap the benefits of this stellar transfer as both these forwards have a bond together and will sparkle with rhyme and rhythm on the football field.
Even though their maiden match together ended in a 1-3 defeat at the hands of arch-rivals, Real Madrid, the duo has scripted several special moments and victories in Barcelona.
They have won 4 La Liga titles, 1 UEFA Champions League title, 4 Copa del Rey titles and 2 Supercopa de Espana titles among several other prestigious titles.
Luis Suarez later went to Atletico Madrid in 2020 and Lionel Messi went to PSG in 2021. A reunion at the American club will make both the football players, walk down the memory lane and create even sweeter memories again.
