Tencent revealed the allocation of slots for the League Stage of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC) 2024, the largest yearly tournament in the game, on the last day of the PMGO Brazil.
Like the last two editions, 48 teams from all around the world will compete in the super tournament’s first phase.
The number of teams that would receive direct invitations to the Grand Finals, which are set to take place in the United Kingdom, was not disclosed by the publisher, though. Similar to the 2023 edition, the PMGC 2024 will have a $3 million total prize fund.
On April 7, the first of the year’s three international competitions came to an end, with the Japanese team Reject winning PMGO.
Top-tier teams competed for a total prize pool of $500,000. The competition was held in São Paulo, Brazil.
PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC 2024) Teams
Nine clubs from EMEA and ten from South East Asia will compete in the League Stage. For this first stage, eight clubs from Central and South Asia (CSA) will be chosen.
The corporation will invite 14 teams from China, Japan, Korea, and other countries, and six teams from the Americas will be selected.
The winning team of the PMWC 2024 will provide its region with an extra PMGC League Stage spot. The distribution of slots is as follows:
- South East Asia – 10 teams
- EMEA – 9 teams
- Central and South Asia (CSA) – 8 teams
- Americas – 6 teams
- China, Japan, Korea, and special invites – 14 teams
- PMWC’s champions region – 1 team
PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) will be hosted by the publisher in many locations. The tournament’s spring phase was recently conducted in South East Asia.
Based on their performance in regional events, teams will be chosen for the Global Championship.
China’s national teams will be selected by their results in the Peacekeeper Elite League (PEL) competitions. Additionally, a select few teams will be sent direct invitations to the Championship.
