Popular Indian club Team Insane has been disqualified from the current Snapdragon BGMI Pro Series 2024 by the ESL. Although other players had made many accusations of cheating against their athlete Tsunami, the organiser did not provide a precise explanation for their disqualification.
The Pro Series, with a ₹1 crore top prize, is the first significant BGMI event of 2024. Starting on January 12, Team Together Esports will take the position of Team Insane in the forthcoming Challenge Season.
32 teams in all will compete in this round to earn one of the 16 spots in the Grand Finals, which will take place in February of the following year.
Team Insane’s Tsunami and three other players remained anonymous throughout the Snapdragon Pro Series. The organization originally took part in the Conquest Open, which was the opening round of competition when 2,048 teams competed for 16 spots in the Open Finals.
After earning a spot there, Team Insane performed admirably in the January 6 and 7 Open Finals. The team achieved fourth place after accumulating 107 points with two Chicken Dinners.
On Day 1, the team had an incredible roster, winning two of the first six games. Even though they performed worse on the second day, they were still able to finish in fourth place overall.
In the Open Finals, there were just eight spots available for the Challenge Season. Team Together Esports, who finished ninth overall, have been granted a spot in the Challenge Season as a result of Team Insane’s disqualification.
For the next round, 24 renowned organisations have been invited by ESL.
Tsunami responds to allegations
Tsunami responded to accusations of cheating by stating he had done nothing improper and that he would provide gameplay recordings of every ESL Snapdragon Pro Series match on his YouTube account.
Additionally, he disclosed that the widely shared video, in which he was suspended for ten minutes, was not from this ESL event and that a network problem rather than hacking was the reason.
In the most recent official BGMI major competition, the BMPS 2023, Team Insane came in third place. But since then, their members Jazzyy, Darlord, Skipzz, and Aadi have all departed the team.
Tsunami, the club’s lone surviving member, participated in the Snapdragon Pro Series with three unregistered players.
