CSK vs RCB Head To Head Records In IPL History

Both teams have faced each other on 27 occasions, and CSK has won 17 of those, with RCB only Nine with one match being abandoned.

With the Pandemic breathing illness and death all across the country, the IPl has been one of the few delights for most Indians to forget the looming dark future.

In its 14th year, the tournament has already witnessed many hard-fought matches under sweltering conditions in Chennai and Mumbai. The see-saw battles would become more gripping as the IPL marches towards its second week and a complete change of venues with no home advantage whatsoever.

Against this backdrop, CSK takes on RCB in the first match of two scheduled this Sunday.

After four outings, both the teams are perched at the top as one and two in the Points table. RCB is yet to lose a single match off four, and CSK has lost only one.

CSK:

The big question is ‘ Can Dad’s army pull it off ‘? After their only failure in UAE last year, CSK has pulled off some terrific victories this season. Their batsman has been the most aggressive from the word go, and CSK has been posting big scores.

With FaFa coming back to form and Gaikwad providing good support from the other, CSK batters do not search for a better launchpad. With Jadeja justifying why he is called Sir Jadeja, CSK has immense solace in Moeen Ali and Suresh Raina.

Sam Curran and Bravo are a generation apart as far as their ages go, but both have stuck to their task in bowling and batting. MSD did show a glimpse of the vintage Dhoni by scoring a few runs against KKR, and if he comes back to form, CSK is bound to make mincemeat of their opposition.

CSK has stood tall when it comes to clashes with RCB. Both captains’ have served the country as skippers and equal in reputation. CSK would love to continue its dominance over RCB, but they know the newly re-engineered team that RCB has.  CSK need to be that lion with fangs, tooth, and claw to keep RCB at bay.

RCB:

CSK vs RCB Head To Head Records In IPL History

It’s difficult to remember in which IPL has RCB won in a streak of four matches. The red Brigade is determined not to let their fans down this time. Virat has not struck form, but the fan with keen eyes would tell you he is getting there. The real hero for RCB has, however, been Devdutt Padikkal. The south-paw from Karnataka is like a flower blooming all the while. His innings against RR a couple of nights back scoring his maiden century.

He is Virat’s form, and he achieved the milestone with his mentor watching him from the other end. RCB’s ten-wicket victory would cause jitters, but one cannot say the same about MSD. Captain Cool is back and has been executing his plans.

RCB would love to sail into the second round undefeated and catch up with the head-to-head wins, which is lopsided.

Maxwell, DeVillers, Jamieson, and the X factor Harshal Patel are combining well, and Virat may realize he is captaining a champion team. The hurdle called CSK has to be removed; Today.
