On Sunday, May 28, in the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest venue, the defending champion Gujarat Titans (GT) will play to defend their title against the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
At their previous meeting in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2023 at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai Super Kings prevailed by a margin of 15 runs. Batting first, Chennai amassed 172/7 in 20 overs thanks to Ruturaj Gaikwad’s (60) and Devon Conway’s (40) contributions.

Chennai Super Kings
The table-toppers, Gujarat Titans, were defeated by Chennai Super Kings by a score of 15 runs in the first IPL 2023 qualifier. In the most recent game, Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 60 runs, which enabled CSK set a 173-run target at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
In the crucial match, CSK also defeated GT for the first time in IPL history. CSK, under MS Dhoni, will aim for the fifth IPL championship.
Gujarat Titans
The Gujarat Titans, on the other hand, will enter the match fresh off a commanding 62-run victory against MI in Qualifier 2 with to Shubman Gill’s masterful performance, which saw him score his third IPL century and Mohit Sharma’s outstanding five-for.
With this, Hardik Pandya & Co. joined CSK and MI as the third teams to play in consecutive IPL finals, making them the first team to do so in the first two IPL seasons. GT will aim to defend their championship at home.
