On Tuesday, April 4, the reigning champion Gujarat Titans will travel to the capital to play the Delhi Capitals in the seventh game of the IPL 2023. David Warner will serve as Delhi’s interim captain in the absence of regular captain Rishabh Pant. The two teams’ matchup is all set to be a blockbuster.
There has only ever been one IPL game between Gujarat Titans and Delhi Capitals. The Titans defeated the Capitals by a score of 14 runs during IPL 2022. Gujarat batted first and scored 171 runs, thanks in large part to Shubman Gill’s outstanding 84-run innings off of just 46 balls.
Only 157 runs could be scored by Delhi in 20 overs. Rishabh Pant, the skipper of DC, played alone and scored 43 runs off just 29 balls. For his four wickets for 28 runs during that game, Lockie Ferguson was named the player of the match. In their game against Gujarat Titans on Tuesday, Delhi will have a great chance to get retribution for that defeat.
Delhi Capitals
In the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the Delhi Capitals are getting ready to play their first home game of the year. For IPL 2023, the Capitals plan to use Arun Jaitley Stadium as their fortress.
On Saturday, DC lost to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the opening game in a fairly low-key manner. Mark Wood’s five-fer destroyed David Warner and company in Lucknow, causing them to lose by a score of 50 runs.
Fortunately for the Capitals, they now have access to a personal express pacer. The ferocious Anrich Nortje is ready to be chosen to bring penetration and steam to a pace attack that appeared somewhat novice versus LSG.
Gujarat Titans
The Gujarat Titans (GT) are a team with a winning mentality. The defending champions encountered a number of problems during their inaugural match of IPL 2023 against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The team was without standout batter David Miller, who finished last year as their second-highest run scorer. In the first innings, newcomer Kane Williamson suffered a knee injury that would ruin his season, further hurting Hardik Pandya and company.
Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan continued to lead a successful run-chase, and GT prevailed in front of their home crowd in Ahmedabad and defeated strong-looking CSK.
DC vs GT Head-to-Head record:
Both the teams have played only once against each other. Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by margin of 14 runs last year.
