He received praise from the cricketing fraternity for performing so well under the pressure of captaincy against a world-class bowling line-up. The middle-order batsman scored 112 runs in a difficult situation in a pressure game for Team India.

Ajinkya Rahane Picks His Favorite Test Cricket Knock

During an interview, Rahane said that his ton in the 2nd Test has a special place. But, his ton at Lords against England is his favorite knock ever throughout his cricketing career, “It was really special. Getting a century always is. Still feel that my hundred against England at Lord’s is my best.”

In 2014, Ajinkya Rahane had played a similar kind of knock at Lords against three lions. Team India was struggling at a score of 145 runs for a loss of 7 wickets. The visitors were under the threat of collapse when Rahane took the charge and stitched a partnership for 90 runs with bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumra. This helped India in posting a respectable total of 295 runs in that game. The right-handed batsman scored 103 runs studded with 15 boundaries and a glorious six.
