Mohammed Siraj has certainly turned the odds in his favors with his scintillating performance in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. However, it was never an easy task for the youngster, who lost his father in the month of November last year. Also, he lost the last opportunity to watch his father due to bio-bubble restrictions. Now, he has revealed the reason behind his success.

Mohammed Siraj made his Test debut in the ongoing series during the 2nd game. He has impressed everyone with his brilliance since his very first game. So far, he has grabbed seven wickets in two games with the help of a remarkable five-wicket haul at The Gabba. He was so good that an Indian contingent gave him a standing ovation for his cult show in Brisbane.

Mohammed Siraj Reveals Secret Behind His Magical Performance At The Gabba

The 26-year-old has said that it was a great feeling that he managed to grab a five-wicket haul in the Test match against Australia. He revealed that his mother was the ray of motivation for him. Siraj asserted that he had a phone call with his mom that helped him in getting mentally strong. And, he became more focused on fulfilling the dream of his father.

“I am thankful that I was able to pick five wickets as it was a very tough situation for me after my dad passed away. But after talking to my mom at home, I gained some confidence. The call with my mom made me mentally strong. My focus was to fulfill my dad’s wish,” said Siraj during the virtual press meet.

“I want to thank god that I got the chance to play for India as it was my dad’s wish too. If he was alive today, he would have been very happy. But I know his blessings were with me and I am speechless after my performance,” said Siraj.
