Australia head coach Justin Langer liked Hardik Pandya’s performance and compared him to former Indian skipper MS Dhoni. Hardik Pandya is reckoned as one of the best finishers in international cricket. And, the Aussie coach opined that the 27-year-old, who is one heck of a player and a future superstar.

Hardik Pandya is in smashing form with the bat since his comeback to competitive cricket after overcoming a back injury. He was in top form with the bat in IPL 2020. And, his return to international cricket was marked with a 90 runs knock against Australia. On the other day, he played a cameo of 42 runs in just 22 balls with the bat. This unbeaten quickfire knock helped Team India in taking a series-winning lead over the hosts.

Justin Langer Compared Hardik Pandya With MS Dhoni Post 2nd T20I

The 27-year-old got off to a slow start and took some time to get settled on the wicket. Afterwards, he took the charge against the bowlers and finished the game with two balls to spare. He smashed two big and monstrous sixes in the final over off Daniel Sams and finished the game in his dashing style.

In the post-match conference, Justin Langer was full of praise for Hardik Pandya. He said that it was incredible to watch Hardik Pandya batting in such a fashion. The former Aussie player opined that the 27-year-old played well like MS Dhoni.

“It was an incredible spectacle of a game. We know how dangerous he (Pandya) is. In the past we had MS Dhoni and the way he (Pandya) played today,” Langer said at the virtual post-match press conference.

Langer feels that Australia fielded well during the match. But, the visitors’ had enough experienced players to finish the game for their side.

“I thought the whole game was a very close one. Our fielding was absolutely incredible, it was electric to watch, but India with their experienced T20 players were too good for us today,” said the Australia coach. India vs Australia final T20I of the three-match series will now be played in Sydney.
