Natarajan had a game full of roller-coaster rides. In the 44th over, he was hammered for 18 runs by Glenn Maxwell and Ashton Agar. But, he was once again back with his accuracy and gave only 4 runs in the crucial 46th over of the game followed by his 2nd wicket of the game in the 48th over of Ashton Agar.

Post-match, Shardul Thakur said that T Natarajan performed brilliantly in his 1st international match. He added that the pacer always bounced back with a commendable effort whenever Aussie batsmen tried to dominate him. The Indian all-rounder feels that Team India needs players like him capable of making a comeback.

“T Natarajan is good. He has done well in the IPL and if you see he executed a lot of yorkers there. He came back pretty well in this game that shows he has got a big character. We need players like him who can come back (after getting hit for runs),” said Shardul Thakur.

“In the white-ball form of cricket, you are going to get hit as a bowler. But what’s important is to come back and bowl again, develop the confidence and take it on from then and there,” he added.
