India vs Australia: Dangerous Looking Glenn Maxwell Departs, Scores 41 Runs Off 19 balls

Indian bowlers are having a tough day in the 1st ODI against Australia in Sydney. But, one player, who will be satisfied with his performance will be Mohammed Shami. The right-hand quick dismissed dangerous David Warner and Glenn Maxwell that brought Team India back into the game.

David Warner smashed 69 runs before heading towards the pavilion. Australia has managed 330 runs in 45 overs with 5 overs still left in their kitty. Aussie skipper Aaron Finch was the star of the batting line-up, who scored a magnificent century against Men in Blue. He amassed 114 runs before giving his wicket to Jasprit Bumrah. Marcus Stoinis had a bad day on the field with the bat as he was dismissed on the very first delivery of his inning. Then came the big show, Glenn Maxwell, who played with an aggressive approach against Indian bowlers.

Mohammed Shami Bags His 2nd Wicket, Glenn Maxwell Departs

He made the mockery of Indian pacers and spinners in n easy fashion. He took the charge from the very first ball and played a quick cameo. Maxwell played with a strike-rate of 237 and managed 41 runs in just 19 balls. The right-handed batsman looked quite dangerous and Mohammed Shami was the bowler to bring his quick cameo to a halt.

On the 4th delivery of the 45th over, Shami bowled a full-length delivery at wide off-stumps. And, Maxwell thought of smashing that delivery for a six. But, he failed in getting his timing and he ended up giving a catch to Ravindra Jadeja near the boundary.

Virender Sehwag, who recently spill beans on Glenn Maxwell’s performance while playing for KXIP in IPL 2020, also praised the Aussie all-rounder. The former Indian opener turned commentator also asserted that Maxwell did a great job with the bat and he should have performed in the same manner for his franchise in IPL as well.

Australia is quickly approaching a score of 350 in their innings and the Indian pacers look pretty much helpless with the ball in the 1st ODI at Sydney Cricket Ground.
