Jasprit Bumrah To Hit Peak Form In The Test Series vs Australia: Shane Bond

Jasprit Bumrah, the premium Indian pacer is expected to set the tone for Team India in the much-awaited Test series against Australia. He is one of the best bowlers in international cricket. But, he has struggled to gain his form in the recent past. However, Shane Bond, former Kiwi pacer and Mumbai Indians bowling coach feel that he will hit an all-time high against Aussies in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The right-arm pacer did exceedingly well in IPL 2020. But a sudden dip in his bowling form made him struggle in the ODI series on placid tracks. He will be a vital cog for India’s bowling set up in the absence of senior pacer Ishant Sharma. Also, this will be the very first time that Bumrah will come face to face against number 1 Test batsman Steve Smith. On the previous tour back in 2018-19, Smith was not on the side as he was handed a year-long ban.

Shane Bond Is Optimistic About Jasprit Bumrah Performing Well In Test Series

Shane Bond, who is the coach of the same franchise for which Jasprit Bumrah plays in IPL. He said that the Indian pacer is always concerned about his bowling. And, he will be eager to come forward in the best possible against Australia in the longer format. Even, he feels that Bumrah will be really effective with pink-cherry under the lights. And, the same thing was visible in the practice games.

”He takes a great deal of pride in his performance and I know he’ll be annoyed he hasn’t quite got the results so far that he’s wanted. The wickets were pretty flat in the ODI series to be fair. I’m sure the tour is going to get better for Booms … he’ll be a real handful and is the sort of bowler who can very quickly change a game if he gets it right,” Shane Bond said.

India vs Australia Test series opener will be played at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide starting on December 17.
