India and England both will have an eye on the ICC World T20 Tournament, which will be played in India this year in October and December. Both the teams will look to set a core team before the ICC mega event starts. Although India has a long T20I series after they face England, no one should be surprised if Team India experiments too much in the upcoming T20I matches.

Team India For IPL 2021

India has called up the young guns to play the shortest format. They have received their national call-ups because of their excellent show in the Indian Premier League, which is the best T20 league in the world, and their performance in the domestic tournaments. Suryakumar Kumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Chahar, Rahul Tewatia, and Varun Chakravarthy have been named in the T20I squad against England.

But Varun Chakravarthy and Rahul Tewatia have failed to pass their fitness test, and they will not play the T20I series against England. Rahul Chahar might make it to the playing XI with Washington Sundar, who can give India the depth in batting, and Yuzvendra Chahal, who has been Kohli’s white-ball specialist.

India’s fast and pace bowling department will have a lot of thinking to do in the absence of Bumrah, Shami and T Natarajan, who is likely to miss out on the series due to his shoulder injury. But the comeback of Bhevneshwar Kumar will boost India’s confidence. Bhuvi will don the blue again after the gap of 15 months. He has performed well in the domestic matches, and he will look to replicate that same form against a strong side like England.

India’s batting is not a lot of concern because the men in blue have depth in their batting. For the first time, Rohit, Rahul and Dhawan are available in India’s T20I squad. But it remains to be seen who partner Rohit Sharma in the first game. According to the reports, Rohit and Rahul will open the innings for the hosts in this match.

Misbah Pant has made a comeback in white-ball cricket after a successful stint in the game’s longer format. Pant has performed brilliantly in the Test series against Australia Down Under and England at home. If Pant makes it to the playing XI, he should replicate his excellent form in the T20I series.

Hardik Pandya will be India’s best pace-bowling all-rounder. But he will have to bowl in this series. India can pick Hardik Pandya as a pure batsman just like they did in the T20I series against Australia Down Under. Bhuvi, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar will be the three pace bowlers for India in the first T20I.

India’s spin bowler all-rounder will hold the key in the shortest format as well. In the absence of India’s premier spin bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel will hold the key to India’s chances. Yuzvendra Chahal will be the lead spinner of this series as they have said that the wicket might offer some turn. So India will play three spinners and fast bowlers for the first match of the series.

India’s Probable Playing 11 – Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Shardul Thakur and Yuzvendra Chahal.

England

England 1st T20I

England has been a powerful side in limited-overs cricket. They were the runners-up of the ICC World T20 in 2016 when the tournament was played in India. England are also the current ODI world cup champions, and Eoin Morgan has a strong side that can lead them to the title win in this ICC mega event.

The visitors have named a strong squad for the T20I series against India, unlike in the Test series, which cost them the WTC Final berth. The visitors are a batting powerhouse with some heavyweights of T20 cricket in the shortest format in this team. With their skipper Eoin Morgan, they also have hard hitters like Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and the number 1 T20 batsman Dawid Malan.

As we all know that T20 is not about just batting, but bowling also plays a crucial role in this format. England has quality bowlers to trouble India in any conditions. Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan, Sam Curran and Ben Stokes will be the four main pace bowlers, along with Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali will be the two spinning all-rounders for their team.

England has a team that can capitalize on India’s inexperienced bowling attack. India might be the favourites because of their form in the last ten T20I matches. But India cannot take England lightly and certainly cannot right off the visitors.

England Probable Playing 11 –  Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler, Moeen Ali, Sam Curran, Jofra Archer, Chris Jordan and Tom Curran.
