RCB Appoints Sanjay Bangar As Batting Consultant For Indian Premier League 2021

RCB has appointed Sanjay Bangar as the batting consultant of the team ahead of the 14th edition. The former player holds vast experience and expertise in giving coaching to international players. Also, he held the charge of assistant coach of India for consecutive five years between 2014 and 2019.

In the Indian Premier League, Sanjay Bangar is one of the most familiar names among all the teams. He brings a lot of experience and quality to the side as far as his experience is concerned. He has been part of the different franchises in IPL like Kings XI Punjab (for 3 years), Kochi Tuskers ( for one year). In 2014, he was appointed as the assistant coach of Team India. And, he continued at the same post till 2019.

Royal Challenger Bangalore social media team made the announcement through their official Twitter handle. They wrote, “Delighted to add a Coach of Sanjay Bangar’s experience to our existing coaching team led by Head Coach Simon Katich,” RCB’s Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson said on Bangar’s appointment.”

Mile Hesson, director of cricket for RCB, said that he is glad to get Sanjay Bangar on-board. he will be working alongside Sriram (batting coach of RCB) and Simon Katich (head coach of RCB).

“Sanjay Bangar’s role as Batting Consultant will include working with our existing squad in camps in Bengaluru leading up to our Full Squad Pre-IPL Camp.”

“We are very fortunate at RCB to now have Sanjay join Sriram and Simon as batting coaches who can offer superb knowledge and experience to our playing squad throughout the IPL,” concluded Mike who is in India for the IPL auctions slated to be held in Chennai on 18th February.

Mike Hesson also showed some excitement for the IPL 2021 auction slated to be held on February 18 in Chennai. In the previous edition, RCB managed to qualify for the playoffs. But, they lost a crucial qualifier to Sunrisers Hyderabad by 10 runs due to which they were knocked out from the cricketing extravaganza.
