Over the course of time, we have seen the sharp increase in the effectiveness of a left-arm seamer.

There always has been a dearth in the number of left-arm seamers in the world but the few ones have always been impressive.

Bangladeshi speedster Mustafizur Rahman is one canny bowler, who has a lot of tricks under his belt.

Mustafizur Rahman wreaked havoc in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016 edition for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and announced himself to the world’s most fierce and competitive T20 league.

In the IPL 2022 mega-auctions, Rahman was snapped up by Delhi Capitals (DC) at his base price of Rs. 2 crores.

He will have a big role to play in the Delhi franchise as they look to win their maiden IPL title.

In this article, we take a look at 3 reasons why Mustafizur Rahman might have a good IPL season for Delhi Capitals:

1. Mustafizur Rahman has a lot of variations under his belt

The 27-year-old pacer is one of the most witty and canny bowlers of contemporary times.

His leg cutters, slower deliveries and back of the hand deliveries are always dreaded by the batters.

The Bangladeshi bowler has run pillar to post to ace these deliveries and will be a key component in the bowling line-up of Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023.

2. Decent experience in the IPL

Mustafizur Rahman has the experience of bowling in different conditions in the IPL.

He has played in Hyderabad, Mumbai and also in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

He can adapt himself well to the different conditions in India and he would be hoping to utilize his strengths and deliver the goods for the David Warner led Delhi side.

In 46 IPL games so far, Mustafizur Rahman has bagged 46 wickets and has a decent economy of 7.80.

3. He recently reached a huge milestone in T20I cricket

Achieving milestones in one’s cricketing career shoots up one’s confidence levels by a huge margin.

Mustafizur Rahman recently joined the 100 wickets club in T20Is and became only the 6th bowler in the world to achieve this feat.

This feat was achieved by the left-arm seamer in the 3rd T20I between Bangladesh and England and the bowler’s confidence levels would by skyrocketing.

Mustafizur Rahman had taken the wicket of Dawid Malan to achieve this feat. He had figures of 4-0-14-1 in that game of the 3-match T20I series.
