The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 has finally concluded and it was a rollercoaster ride for all the teams. After 2.5 months of cricketing frenzy, it was Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) who lifted the coveted silverware.
KKR lifted their 3rd IPL title on 26th May 2024 in front of an exuberant and electrifying atmosphere at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. It was pure class and dominance from Shreyas Iyer and co. as they simply blew away Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the high-voltage finals.
The 17th edition of IPL witnessed several fireworks as teams battled it out for supremacy. IPL 2024 witnessed several records and milestones being created.
From the highest-ever team total of 287 runs by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) to the meek surrender of the very same opposition in the finals versus KKR, IPL 2024 came a full circle.
KKR had defeated SRH in their first game of IPL 2024 and in the end, it was Hyderabad who faced the wrath of the 3-time IPL champions.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were skittled out for a paltry total of 113 runs in the 1st innings and it was Rahmanullah Gurbaaz and Venkatesh Iyer who laid the foundation for KKR’s victory at Chepauk.
The 8-wicket victory of the Purple and Gold Victory was a convincing one and it was packed with power and dominance.
Kolkata Knight Riders are only behind Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the list of most titles won by an IPL team. After IPL 2024, this was the first time KKR laid their hands on the coveted IPL title.
