Gujarat Titans are set to play their very first game of the Indian Premier League history. They have picked a strong squad in the auction that was held earlier this year. The Gujarat-based franchise had already announced that Hardik Pandya is going to be their skipper in the 15th edition. Now, they have announced Rashid Khan as their vice-captain.
Hardik Pandya is one of the hottest properties when it comes to the Indian Premier League. He was released by Mumbai Indians earlier this year and Titans roped him without losing much of their time. They picked him at a hefty fee of INR 15 Crores and now Gujarat Titans have picked Rashid Khan as their captain for the tournament
Rashid Khan is rated as one of the best spinners currently playing in international cricket. He is known for making batsmen dance on his bowling tunes. Too often he is compared with the likes of late Shane Warne, Anil Kumble, and other spin bowling greats. This is one big reason why Gujarat Titans gambled real big on his name ahead of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. Overall in IPL, he has grabbed 93 wickets in 76 games.
Rashid Khan made his Indian Premier League debut for Sunrisers Hyderabad back in 2017. But, he was released by the franchise earlier this year due to some reason. And, Gujarat Titans hopped onto the opportunity in order to secure his services. He is known for his bowling skills across the globe. But, he has too often shown glimpses of having brilliant batting skills with his willow.
