After losing a few wickets, Hardik Pandya clicked a swift knock of 87 runs smashing Royals bowlers all across the park. He helped GT in posting a mammoth total of 193 runs in stipulated 20 overs for the team. Later on, Gujarat bowlers successfully defended the target stopping RR at a score of 115 runs in 20 overs.
Post-match, Rashid Khan praised Hardik Pandya as skipper of Gujarat Titans. He said that the Indian all-rounder has led the side with an example and tried keeping the environment upbeat. As per him, Hardik Pandya never backs down from taking difficult decisions with clarity.
“The way he (Hardik) has led the team, the way he has kept the team environment, inside and outside the field has been amazing so far,” Rashid said at the virtual post-match press conference.
“He (Hardik) is someone who always takes that brave decision, always has confidence and he is someone who is very clear in mind on what he is going to do.
“This is an important thing as a captain when your mind is clear, and you take right decisions, the result will take (care) by itself,” added Rashid.
“You take right decisions with confidence, that is something which makes him the best and he has been delivering the best so far and leading from the front – (be it) batting, bowling and fielding,” said Rashid
Gujarat Titans stormed to the first position in the league table after registering an emphatic win over Rajasthan Royals. They now have 8 points in five games with Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Punjab Kings among the top four.
