IPL 2021: Harbhajan Singh Confirms His Contract With Chennai Super Kings Comes To An End

Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has made a huge announcement ahead of IPL 2021 auction. He has confirmed that his contract with Chennai Super Kings will come to an end before the Indian Premier League auction for the 14th edition.

Harbhajan Singh, the veteran Indian spinner was bought by CSK back in 2018. And, the off-spinner played a starring role in making his side win in their third trophy. He grabbed 19 wickets and finished the tournament as one of the leading wicket-takers from MS Dhoni’s winning side. He was expected to play a crucial role in the 13th edition as well. But, he walked out of the tournament as he had to be with his ailing mother.

Harbhajan Singh Cut Ties With Chennai Super Kings Ahead Of IPL 2021 Auction

The office is one of the best spinners India has ever produced in the history of international cricket. Also, he has maintained the same domination in the shorter format league as well. Overall, he has scalped 150 wickets in 160 games. Harbhajan has achieved several milestones in his long international career. He has the honor of winning two world cup titles.

He took to his official Twitter handle and shared a post that read, “As my contract comes to an end with @ChennaiIPL, playing for this team was a great experience..beautiful memories made &some great friends which I will remember fondly for years to come..Thank you @ChennaiIPL, management, staff, and fans for a wonderful 2years.. All the best.”

Bhajji said it was an honor for him to play for Chennai Super Kings. He is taking lots of good memories along with him. He also wished luck to CSK for the upcoming season.

Chennai Super Kings had a poor IPL in 2019 and finished their season on the seventh position. It was the first time since the Indian Premier League inception that CSK failed to qualify for the further stage of the tournament. IPL auction is expected to take place in the second week of February and Chennai Super Kings might go for a big overhaul ahead of the upcoming edition.
