IPL 2021 is all set to get off the mark from April 9 with the opening game between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The tournament opener will be played at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai under Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines.
The current scenario is not ideally fit for the fans to attend the game. This is the reason why the tournament is going to be played behind closed doors. Meanwhile, the venues have also been cut short and many teams will not get the advantage of playing on their home grounds. However, the teams have already reached the destination where they have to play their opening game and begin with their practice.
Recently, there were reports that IPL might get indefinitely postponed looking forward to the current spike in COVID-19 cases in India. But that has not been the case and BCCI has given the assurance that the tournament will go as per the schedule. Also, BCCI chief Sourav Ganguly stated that there will not be any changes in the venues.
