IPL 2022 final to be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Kolkata gets to host two playoff matches

Indian Premier League 2022 playoff stage venues and dates have been finalized by BCCI in the recently held meeting. It brings good news for all the cricket fans as the matches will be played in front of the fans in full capacity.

IPL 2022 is in full swing and the tournament has reached halfway. Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans are currently on the top and Sunrisers Hyderabad is at the 2nd position followed by Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants in 3rd and 4th position.

BCCI finalized Dates and Venues for IPL 2022 Playoff

This season for the first time 10 teams are participating in the tournament. But, only the top four will get to feature in the play-offs. In the recently held BCCI meeting, it was decided that the first qualifier will be played on 24th May and the eliminator will be played on 26th May. And, the venues shortlisted for the crucial IPL stage is Kolkata and Ahemdabad.

Meanwhile, the final of the cash-rich league will be played on 29th May at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahemdabad.

“As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged finishes on May 22,” Ganguly told media persons on Saturday.

Along with IPL 2022 playoff schedule, BCCI also announced that the three-team Women’s T20 Challenge will take place between 24th May and 28th May.

“The Women’s Challenger series will be held between May 24-28 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium,” he added.
