One of the most successful campaigners of the IPL title bagged a total of 21 players during the mega auction. The player who gained the most limelight was Ishan Kishan, purchased at a jaw-dropping 15.25 Cr, crowning him as the most expensive player of IPL auction 2022. Another witty call made by Mumbai was picking Jofra Archer for 8 Cr for utilizing him in the future. Archer is currently suffering from a hand injury and there are clouds over his involvement in the Playing XI.

Tim David (8.25 crores), and Dewald Brevis (Rs. 3 crores) were some other top picks Mumbai made in the auction. Ahead of the IPL auction, they retained Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Kieron Pollard. Rohit’s retainment was justified as the team won 5 titles under his leadership in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020.

Here is the list of Strongest Predicted Playing 11 for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022.

Openers: Rohit Sharma (C) & Ishan Kishan (WK)

Middle-order: Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Verma & Kieron Pollard

Suryakumar Yadav has already belted tons of runs in domestic cricket and past editions of the Indian Premier League. He will continue to strengthen the No. 3 position whereas Kieron Pollard will keep things afloat at No. 5 in case things go southwards. The No. 4 position will be possibly filled by the 19-year-old young talent, Tilak Verma. Verma’s performance with the willow was exceptional for the India Under-19s campaign.

All-rounders: Tim David & Sanjay Yadav

Mumbai will be relying on some newcomers to finish matches for them. Tim David is already a lethal player of the shorter format of the game. He will be coming into the squad after hammering some runs for his franchise in the Pakistan Super League. On the other hand, Sanjay Yadav had prior experience with Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad but couldn’t make it to the Playing 11. The 26-year-old has also bagged some scalps with his slow left-arm orthodox bowling. They would definitely miss Hardik Pandya as an all-rounder, who kind of played a dual role for the team apart from being a brilliant fielder.

One of the core strengths of Mumbai Indians has been their bowling lineup. Jasprit Bumrah will be leading the bowling attack for Mumbai Indians while Murugan Ashwin will pose as their lead spinner. Daniel Sams and Tymal Mills will compliment Bumrah in the pace department.

So far we analyzed that apart from some solid names, Mumbai Indians have completely revamped their squad this season. However, if this could be a piece of bad news for them it’s too soon to tell. The new additions would be justified only if their current squad could live up to the legacy of their past players.
