Sarfaraz Khan has been one of the most discussed names in the Indian circuit in recent times.
Despite scoring truckloads of runs in the domestic circuit, Sarfaraz Khan has time and again been snubbed by the Indian selectors and this has irked a large section of the fans.
There is also a large section of the fans which are against Sarfaraz’s selection as he has a lot of fitness issues.
Come the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and Khan would be hoping to put a lid on the mouths of all his naysayers.
Sarfaraz Khan will be playing for Delhi Capitals (DC) in this year’s IPL and would be hoping to power his side to their maiden IPL title.
In this article, we take a look at 3 reasons why Sarfaraz Khan can have a good IPL season in IPL 2023:
1. Sarfaraz Khan’s form has been nothing short of legendary
In first-class cricket, Sarfaraz Khan has absolutely been a sensation. He has scored runs with ease and has time and again displayed consistency.
In the 2021-22 season of the Ranji Trophy, the Mumbai batter scored 982 runs at an average of 122.75.
While in this year’ Ranji Trophy, the 25-year-old cricketer amassed 556 runs in 6 matches.
His form has been exceptional and this will give him confidence heading into IPL 2023.
2. The absence of Rishabh Pant will make Khan a regular starter
Unless David Warner’s Delhi Capitals go with Phil Salt as the keeper, Sarfaraz Khan should be the first-choice wicket-keeper in Delhi.
As Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of IPL 2023 after a deadly accident in December 2022, Sarfaraz Khan should be given the nod in the starting XI.
3. Khan is a very good player of spin
Sarfaraz Khan can play the unorthodox shots in T20 cricket really well and is a clean hitter of the ball.
He can not only don the hat of a finisher but can also play in the middle-order for Delhi Capitals.
The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi always favours spinners and the tracks are slow and turning ones.
Sarfaraz Khan should really back himself to have a good IPL 2023 season.
