IPL 2023: 3 Talking Points Of LSG vs RCB Game

Date:

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) failed to complete a double over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. They lost by 18 runs against a fearless looking RCB side.

A rivalry in some sense is brewing between the two sides in IPL as after both the games in IPL 2023, there have been moments that have been filled with tension and excitement. Post the game at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow, tempers flared and there were a few face-offs.

In the sluggish conditions of Lucknow, batting became extreme hard and therefore this LSG vs RCB game was a low-scoring affair.

In this article, we take a look at 3 talking points of the LSG vs RCB game that took place in Lucknow in IPL 2023:

1. Face-offs between some players

Post the game and even during the game, there were some ugly exchanges of words between Virat Kohli and Naveen-ul-Haq. LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir too joined the bandwagon of fire and was involved in an animated chat with Virat Kohli.

After this, both Virat and Gambhir were fined 100% of their match fees. Naveen-ul-Haq was fined 50% of his match fees.

2. Faf Du Plessis’s mature knock of 44 runs

At a time when all the other batters struggled, Faf Du Plessis took his time but played a composed knock of 44 runs in just 40 balls. He opened the batting and this time he was back as the skipper of RCB. In the earlier matches, Virat Kohli was captaining the RCB side and Faf was playing as an impact substitute as he had an injury.

Faf Du Plessis also bagged the player of the match award in this LSG vs RCB game at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow. His knock brimmed with class and composure.

3. Naveen-ul-Haq was the pick of the bowlers for LSG

Afghan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq continued his impressive form in IPL 2023 as he was the pick of the bowlers for the Lucknow franchise. He bagged 3 wickets in this game and conceded only 30 runs in his 4 overs.

In just 4 games, the Afghan speedster has bagged 7 wickets and has an excellent economy of 14.00. As Mark Wood has been ruled out of IPL 2023 because of an illness, Naveen has to step up and play a huge role if LSG are to qualify for the playoffs.
