IPL 2023: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Secures A Spot In IPL 2023 Playoffs

Date:

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) dominated the Delhi Capitals (DC) on a thrilling Saturday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, defeating them by a record 77-run margin to win a coveted position in the IPL 2023 Playoffs.

The CSK team, led by MS Dhoni, is now the second team to qualify for the knockout rounds, following in the footsteps of the Gujarat Titans, the defending champions.

With 12 playoff appearances in the IPL’s 14 seasons, CSK has established itself as the team with the most of them thanks to this accomplishment.

CSK has 17 points after their most recent victory, giving them a good chance to hold onto second place in the IPL 2023 standings.

They must be on guard, though, as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who play the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) later today, could surpass them if they win easily.

If LSG pulls off a convincing victory, they will tie CSK for second place with 17 points, and the side with the higher Net Run Rate (NRR) will take second place.

The Gujarat Titans and one of CSK or LSG will square off in Qualifier 1 on Tuesday in Chennai, the first round of the 2018 playoffs. The teams that finished third and fourth in the standings will face off against each other in the Eliminator game on Wednesday.

The thrilling IPL 2023 season will come to a close with the Qualifier 2 on May 26 and the Final on May 28 both taking place in Ahmedabad.
