MS Dhoni, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has landed in Chennai to get ready for the 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As the supporters waited impatiently to see the iconic player, the legendary IPL skipper was given a warm welcome at the Chennai airport. Dhoni immediately got in his car and headed for the team hotel.
As soon as Dhoni arrived at the hotel, CSK posted a photo of him doing so. “Thala Dharisanam, finally!” the franchisee wrote in the post’s caption. Dhoni will return to the field after a lengthy absence of 10 months, having missed all of the competitive cricket since May 2022.
Dhoni, who has 4978 runs in 234 IPL games, would once again be a crucial part of the team since he would bring to it tremendous IPL experience. He led CSK to four IPL titles.

It is confirmed that Dhoni will captain CSK for at least one more season. Prior to the start of IPL 2022, the four-time champion captain had given the team’s leadership to Ravindra Jadeja, but as the Yellow Army struggled under the star all-rounder, he took it back.
From 8 games, CSK only earned 2 victories with Jadeja as captain. With CSK’s chances of advancing to the next round being extremely limited, Dhoni took the reins once again. They won two of their subsequent six games to place ninth in the points standings.
