With a thrilling one-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Bengaluru on Monday, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) climbed to the top of the IPL 2023 points table.

After losing wickets quickly in the beginning, Lucknow recovered to chase down the challenging 213 targets with the help of brilliant fifties from Nicholas Pooran (62 off 19) and Marcus Stoinis (65 off 30), as well as an important contribution from Ayush Badoni (30 off 24).

Despite RCB’s late comeback in the final two overs, LSG maintained their composure to cross the finish line with one wicket remaining and earn their third victory in four games.

In the 2023 IPL points standings, Lucknow Super Giants regained first place, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders in second and Rajasthan Royals in third.

With Royal Challengers Bangalore coming in seventh, Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings, and Punjab Kings maintained their positions in fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. IPL 2023 Points Table – Updated 

RR comes in second with 4 points and an NRR of 2.067, trailing LSG in first place with 6 points and a Net Run Rate of 1.048. With four points and an NNR of 1.375, KKR is third. CSK is in fifth place with 4 points and an NRR of 0.356, while GT is in fourth place with 4 points and an NRR of 0.431.

RCB is in seventh place with 2 points and an NNR of -0.800, followed by SRH with 2 points and an NNR of -1.502, and PBKS with 4 points and an NNR of -0.281. With -1.394 and -2.092 NNR, respectively, MI and DC have yet to win a game.

Orange Cap: Shikhar Dhawan

Shikhar Dhawan of PBKS is in first place with 225 runs from three games, followed by CSK’s Ruturaj Gaikwad with 189 runs from three games. With 175 and 164 runs from three games, RCB’s Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli are third and fourth, respectively. With 158 runs from three games, DC captain David Warner is in sixth place.

Purple Cap: Mark Wood 

With nine wickets from three games, Mark Wood of LSG regained the Purple Cap. Next in line was Rashid Khan of GT with eight wickets. Yuzvendra Chahal of RR is third with 8 wickets as well. Fourth place goes to LSG’s Ravi Bishnoi, who has six wickets after four games. Alzarri Joseph of GT is fifth with six wickets after three contests.
