IPL 2024 horrible performances

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 witnessed some fireworks from all the teams. Mostly all the teams had their standout performers and those performances have helped them shine brightly on the international stage.

It is no joke when the pundits refer the IPL to as the most competitive league in the world. And with the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 just days away, IPL 2024 was a great platform for a lot of players to showcase their mettle and skills in front of the entire cricketing fraternity of the world.

However, there are a few players who had a torrid and forgettable IPL season and they will be itching to keep these memories aside forever.

In this article, we take a look at 3 players who had a horrible IPL 2024 season:

1. Glenn Maxwell (Royal Challengers Bengaluru)

Glenn Maxwell

After a terrific ICC ODI World Cup 2023 sojourn, Glenn Maxwell would have imagined that he could conjure something magical in IPL 2024 too. But the Australian powerful all-rounder had a dismal IPL 2024 season and was also dropped for a few matches to pave the way for English all-rounder, Will Jacks.

Maxwell had a horror show with the bat as he scored just 52 runs in 10 innings with a dismal average of 5.77.

2. Vijay Shankar (Gujarat Titans)

Vijay Shankar

One of the most bankable all-rounders in the IPL, Vijay Shankar played just 7 matches. He scored 83 runs and had a poor average of 16.60. Vijay Shankar’s highest score in IPL 2024 was 17 and he slipped under the radar in Gujarat Titans.

The 33-year-old all-rounder had scored 301 runs in IPL 2023 for Gujarat and based on his standards, he had a flop show in IPL 2024.

3. Maheesh Theekshana (Chennai Super Kings)

Maheesh Theekshana

Sri Lankan spinner Maheesh Theekshana had a poor outing in IPL 2024. Because of team combinations, Theekshana couldn’t find his spot in the playing XI of 5-time IPL winners Chennai Super Kings and he failed to live up to the expectations of everyone.

He bagged just 2 wickets in 5 games in IPL 2024 and had a forgettable outing with the white-cherry for Ruturaj Gaikwad and co. He would be hoping to have a good sojourn at the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to get his confidence back on track.
