IPL 2024: Simon Doull Makes Shocking Claim About Hardik Pandya
Simon Doull on Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya has been the talk of the town for quite some time after the unceremonious culmination of the tenure of Rohit Sharma as the skipper of Mumbai Indians (MI). Former New Zealand pacer and cricket broadcaster Simon Doull now has made a shocking claim about the skipper of Mumbai, Hardik Pandya.

Mumbai Indians had made Hardik Pandya bowl in their first 2 matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He bagged a solitary wicket in those 2 games and failed to leave a lasting impact in those 2 matches versus Gujarat Titans (GT) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Pandya then refrained from bowling in the next 3 matches and this made a lot of former players, pundits and fans question his fitness in the IPL 2024.

Simon Doull now has revealed the possibility of Hardik Pandya being injured and him not admitting it while being in a show on Cricbuzz.

“You go out and make a statement by opening the bowling in-game no. 1, and suddenly, you are not required. He’s injured. I’m telling you there is something wrong with him. He is not admitting it. But there is something wrong with him for sure. That is my gut feeling,” said the former pacer of New Zealand on Cricbuzz.

Notably, Hardik Pandya was out of action for a considerable period of time after the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The Indian talented all-rounder had suffered an ankle injury in India’s game against Bangladesh and his World Cup campaign was brought to a screeching halt.

He went into the recovery mode and came back in the IPL 2024, with his sights on the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will be played in West Indies and USA, immediately after the completion of the IPL.

In a post-match interview, Hardik Pandya had given an update on his bowling.

“All good will be bowling at the right time. Had it covered, so didn’t need to roll my arm over,” said Hardik Pandya in a post-match interview.

Mumbai Indians have got back to winning ways in IPL 2024

After suffering 3 losses on the trot, the 5-time champions of the glamorous IPL have bounced back to winning ways. They have defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and are presently in the 7th position in the IPL 2024 points table.
Mumbai Indians have a formidable team and with the depth their squad possesses, it could well ring alarm bells in the opposition teams’ camps.
