The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is poised to select Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium as the venue for the IPL 2025 final, scheduled for June 3.

Multiple reports indicate that the world’s largest cricket stadium is the frontrunner to host the grand finale, with an official announcement from the BCCI expected soon.

Why is Ahmedabad to host the IPL 2025 Final?

The Narendra Modi Stadium, with its state-of-the-art facilities and capacity to accommodate over 100,000 spectators, has become a preferred venue for marquee cricket events in recent years.

Its successful hosting of previous IPL finals and major international fixtures makes it a natural choice for the 2025 edition’s showpiece match.

Revised IPL 2025 Schedule

  • Final: June 3, 2025 (Tuesday), likely at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
  • Playoffs: The venues for the playoff matches, including Qualifier 1, Eliminator, and Qualifier 2, are yet to be officially confirmed. Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium is reportedly in contention to host at least one playoff match, while Hyderabad and Kolkata, initially scheduled for playoffs, may be reconsidered due to logistical and weather concerns.
  • League Matches: The remaining league games will be played across Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Delhi, and Lucknow.

Context and Background

The IPL 2025 season was briefly suspended due to cross-border tensions but is set to resume on May 17 following a ceasefire agreement.

The BCCI has since released a revised schedule, compressing the tournament window and prompting a review of venues for the crucial playoff and final matches.

What’s Next?

While the BCCI has yet to make an official declaration, all indications point to Ahmedabad hosting the IPL 2025 final.

The decision is expected to be formalized in the coming days, as teams and fans prepare for the season’s climax at one of cricket’s most iconic venues.
