The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 has given fans some of the most exciting and high-scoring matches ever. 

This season, teams chased down huge targets with skill and confidence, showing why IPL is the most thrilling T20 league in the world. 

Many dramatic run chases kept everyone watching until the last ball. Three of these chases were record-breaking, with fearless batting and great teamwork making them stand out. 

1. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 246-Run Chase vs Punjab Kings (April 12, 2025)

On April 12, 2025, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) achieved a monumental feat by chasing down a target of 246 runs set by Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. 

This chase became the second-highest successful run chase in IPL history. The foundation of this remarkable victory was laid by opener Abhishek Sharma, who scored a blistering 141 runs off just 55 balls, hitting 10 sixes and 14 fours. 

His partnership with Travis Head, who contributed 66 runs off 37 balls, resulted in a 171-run opening stand that dismantled the PBKS bowling attack. SRH reached the target in just 18.3 overs, finishing at 247/2.

2. Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s 228-Run Chase vs Lucknow Super Giants (May 27, 2025)

In their final league match on May 27, 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. 

Chasing a big target of 228 runs, RCB delivered a stellar batting performance to achieve their highest successful run chase in IPL history and the third-highest overall. 

Stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma led the charge with an unbeaten 85 off 33 balls, while Virat Kohli added a quickfire 54 off 30 balls. 

Mayank Agarwal also played a crucial role with an unbeaten 41 off 23 balls. RCB reached the target in 18.4 overs, finishing at 230/4. 

This victory not only secured their place in Qualifier 1 but also made them the first team in IPL history to win all seven away matches in a single season. 

3. Delhi Capitals’ 211-Run Chase vs Lucknow Super Giants (March 24, 2025)

On March 24, 2025, Delhi Capitals (DC) faced Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. 

Chasing a target of 210 runs, DC found themselves in a precarious position at 65/5. However, Ashutosh Sharma played a heroic innings, scoring an unbeaten 66 off 31 balls. 

He was well-supported by Tristan Stubbs (34 runs) and Viraj Nigam (39 runs). DC managed to reach the target with three balls to spare, finishing at 211/9. 

This chase marked DC’s highest successful run chase in IPL history and the ninth-highest overall.
