Kuldeep Yadav has a sense of security playing in the Delhi Capitals: Axar Patel

Date:

Delhi Capitals faced Mumbai Indians in the 2nd game of the Indian Premier League. They managed a close win over the former IPL champions by 4 wickets. Credits to Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav, who were at their batting best during the game against Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, one bowler that attracted the majority of the eyeballs with his bowling was Kuldeep Yadav as he grabbed three wickets with the ball.

Mumbai Indians managed a respectable total of 177 runs in stipulated 20 overs. Ishan Kishan finished as the top scorer for MI with 81 runs off 48 balls. However, his brilliant effort went in vain as DC grabbed a close win in their opening affair of IPL 2022.

Kuldeep Yadav was not feeling secure at Kolkata Knight Riders

While Mumbai Indians were batting, it was Kuldeep Yadav, who restricted batsmen from scoring runs at a good strike rate in the match. He took the important wicket of Rohit Sharma, Kieron Pollard, and Anmolpreet Singh at a low economy rate of 4.50.

It is well known that Kuldeep Yadav suddenly lost the trust of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the last few years due to a sudden dip in his bowling form. Even, he didn’t get a single game in the previous edition while he was with Knight Riders.

Earlier, this year he was released by the former champions and he was picked by Delhi Capitals at a price of INR 2 Crores. And, the Indian spinner proved his mantle by taking three-for in the season opener for his franchise.

In a recent interview, Axar Patel said that it is always about the mindset of the bowler. As per him, Kuldeep Yadav was not feeling secure with the Kolkata-based franchise but that is not the case at Delhi Capitals. He added that if a player feels safe of getting more games then he will always give brilliant performances in their department.

“It’s all about the mindset. He was struggling in the IPL as his place was not secured for KKR. He was not sure whether he would play all their matches,” said Axar Patel said as quoted by India Today.

“But he feels that surety of playing matches after coming over here. If you know your place is secured, and not that you have to perform in two matches otherwise you will be sacked from the team, then you can give your best,” he added.
