MS Dhoni to turn producer, all set to produce sci-fi web-series

MS Dhoni left everyone in shock after he announced retirement from all forms of cricket on August 15. The rumors were in the media since long that Dhoni will soon bid adieu to cricket. However, there was no confirmation over the same except the speculations. There were rumors that he will serve the Indian Army post-retirement.

But, he shockingly announced his retirement through an Instagram post. Now, Sakshi Dhoni, the wife of former Indian skipper has revealed that her husband will turn into a producer of his own production company.

The former player is reckoned as one of the best skippers in the history of international cricket. He is the only captain on the planet to have won T20 World Cup, 50-over World Cup, and Champions Trophy. Currently, he is leading Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. He has got more than 15,000 international runs and 294 dismissals with the gloves.

In a recent interview with Mid-Day, Sakshi Dhoni revealed the further plans of her husband. She said that their production house has acquired the rights of a book. And, they will soon start making a web-series over its plot.

“We have acquired the rights of an unpublished book of a debutant author. We will adapt it into a web series. It is a mythological sci-fi story that explores the journey of a mysterious Aghori and is set at a high-tech facility on a remote island,” Sakshi said as quoted by Mid-Day

She said that their production house will give more chances to the upcoming young individuals to showcase their talent in front of people. She also hinted that MS Dhoni will also be involved in the operations.

“When we were developing Roar of the Lion, we thought it was the perfect time to venture into the entertainment industry. We aim to give a platform to deserving talent to showcase their skills along with providing fresh and original content to the audience. Mahi will be partially involved [in the production house],” she added.

In 2019, MS Dhoni rolled out his own banner with the name of Dhoni Entertainment. At that time, he was playing for Team India. But, now when he has bid adieu to cricket, it is expected that he will shift his full focus towards his production house.
