Indian bowler Yuzvendra Chahal, who plays for RCB in IPL, insisted that his franchise has finally filled all the voids in their bowling unit for the upcoming edition. In the previous seasons, Royal Challengers Bangalore ended up losing several important games just due to the lack of experienced and wicket-taking bowlers in their side. However, the 30-year-old feels that RCB’s bowling department looks well balanced in the presence of Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav, and Chirs Morris for the 13th edition that will kick start from September 19.
RCB holds a big fanbase across the world due to the presence of some big cricketing names like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in their ranks. But, they are still known as one of the most unsuccessful franchises. And, they are yet to win their maiden IPL trophy.
Yuzvendra Chahal looks optimistic about RCB’s bowling unit for IPL 2020
During an interaction, Chahal said that the spinners will play a key role in the upcoming edition that will be played in UAE. As per him, the trio of Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav, and Chris Morris will give a much-needed strength to the bowling department of RCB.
“We have sorted out our bowling in the death overs. We have Dale (Steyn) sir, (Navdeep) Saini, (Chris) Morris and Umesh (Yadav) bhaiya. We are not worried about bowling the last few overs because everyone is ready and on wickets here (in UAE) spinners too can chip in with a couple of overs,” Chahal was quoted as saying in Cricbuzz.
The Indian spinner also praised Adam Zampa, who has replaced his national teammate Kane Richardson as the latter backed out from the tournament in order to stay along with his pregnant wife.
“Zampa is a wonderful leg-spinner who comes with a lot of experience. He has also played in India, and the wickets here are similar to those back home. His arrival has strengthened our attack because he comes fresh from international duty in the T20 format,” Chahal added, praising Zampa.
This season fans are quite hopeful that after including some big names in the rank, RCB might pull off their best season so far in the IPL history. Royal Challengers Bangalore, the three-time finalist, will open their tournament campaign against the former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 21 in Dubai.
