Watch: Mohammad Siraj Abuses Teammate Mahipal Lomror During RCB vs RR Game

Date:

After a botched run-out opportunity in the non-strikers end at the end of the 19th over in the game between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), Mohammad Siraj abused his teammate Mahipal Lomror.

Lomror, who was fielding in the long legion threw the ball at Siraj but it wasn’t a good throw. Siraj ended up dislodging the stumps with his leg and he then was visible frustrated at the fielder. Even though RCB beat Rajasthan by 7 runs in this game, this episode was a talking point in the game.

Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin ran extremely hard for the 2nd run and even though Ashwin was short of his crease in the 19th over, he still wasn’t out.

Mohammad Siraj later apologised to Mahipal Lomror

Mohammad Siraj then admitted that he extended his apologies to Lomror and said he apologised to him twice for his behaviour during the heat of the moment.

“I am so angry man. Sorry. I have apologized to him twice already. I don’t carry the aggression off the field. It all calms down post the match,” said Siraj in a video that was posted by the YouTube channel of RCB.

“It’s alright Siraj bhai. Such small things keep happening in such big matches,” replied Mahipal Lomror as he wasn’t upset with this entire episode.

RCB win their second game on the trot under Virat Kohli’s captaincy

As Faf Du Plessis isn’t fit for fielding, Kohli has been donning the skipper’s hat for RCB. The Bangalore based side first defeated Punjab Kings (PBKS) at Mohali and then beat RR at home.

Riding on the beautiful knocks of Faf Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell who scored 62 and 77 runs respectively, RCB posted 189 runs on the board.

Even though Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal tried their level best to secure a win for Rajasthan, RCB had the last laugh in the game.

Mohammad Siraj further said that he focussed on his strength i.e., the scrambled seam and he also said that he is enjoying the role as the leader of the bowling pack of RCB.

“I accept any challenge. My role is going well, wickets with the new ball and the ball is coming out of the hand nicely. One ball swung in the first over when it swung into [Yashasvi] Jaiswal, and then I concentrated on my scrambled-seam as I trust that,” said Siraj.

“There was a bit of reverse and it is not easy to hit sixes off the reverse on a hard length. I’m very happy with the responsibility of leading the attack,” he added.
