The schedule for the Asia Cup 2022 was recently shared by Asia Cup Council’s Jay Shah on his social media page. According to the schedule, the first match of the tournament will take place on August 27th and as expected, UAE will host the tournament across two venues.

Bangladesh will have to wait for three days to play their first contest in the tournament. They will take on Afghanistan on 30th August in Sharjah.

Asia Cup 2022 Format

Due the upcoming T20 World Cup which will take place in Australia this year, the tournament format has been changed from ODI to T20I. This is just the second edition where the tournament will be played in the shorter format.

Asia Cup 2022 Teams

Six teams will battle it out for the title in the 15th edition of the tournament. While the five teams have already made it the main draw, one team will be selected based on the Qualifying tournament which will take place in the second week.

UAE, Singapore, Kuwait and Hongkong will face each other and the winner of the tournament will join the main group as the sixth team.

The teams are split into two Groups and each member will face the other two members once. The top two teams in each group will advance to the Super Four stage. Once again, the four teams will battle it out in a round-robin format and the top two teams in that group will meet in the final of the tournament on September 11.

Asia Cup 2022 Schedule, Match, and Time

Asia Cup 2022 is all set to begin on August 27. Bangladesh will be playing its first match on August 30th. The tournament will begin with the clash between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan followed by India and Pakistan. The third match of the tournament will be played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Asia Cup 2022: Sri Lanka Schedule

Bangladesh is placed in Group B alongside hosts Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. The team will begin their title quest on August 27, Saturday. They will play their first match in Sharjah and their second match against Sri Lanka will be in Dubai.

Asia Cup 2022 Venue

The matches will be played in the UAE across a couple of venues. The venue for the tournament was decided just a few days ago as Sri Lankan Board withdrew as hosts at the last minute due to the ongoing economic and political crisis in the country. However, they retained their rights as the hosting nation. Only the venue for the tournament will come under the UAE. All the matches will be played in two venues- Dubai and Sharjah. Dubai will host most of the matches including the final of the tournament.

Bangladesh Past records:

Bangladesh are yet to win the tournament but they did come closer on three occasions including the edition where they ended as the runners-up to India.

Asia Cup 2022 Bangladesh Probable Squad

Bangladesh are yet to name the official squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. The team is currently in Harare taking on the hosts Zimbabwe. The Board had rested a few players for the tour and the main players are likely to return to the Asia Cup squad.
