After a few important cameos by the lower-order batters, India finish their 1st innings score with an imposing total of 404. The likes of Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer were the top-scorers for India as they powered India to a commanding position in this Test match.

The vice-captain of Team India Pujara scored a vital knock of 90 (203) and his innings was laced with 11 fours. Shreyas Iyer on the other hand has been in good form for quite some time and mustered 86 runs in his knock.

After India was reeling at 48/3 with the likes of Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli being dismissed, Pant played a counter-attacking knock of 46 runs. He had a good strike-rate of 102.22.

Then Pujara and Iyer stitched a solid partnership of around 150 runs and steadied India’ ship. The spinners found a lot of assistance on this pitch and the likes of Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked up 4 wickets each to derail India’s batting order.

Ravichandran Ashwin then took things in his hands and scored a valuable cameo of 58 runs before being stumped out by Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Kuldeep Yadav too put on some crucial runs and finished his knock with 40 runs.

The tailenders have been in good form for India and have provided some valuable runs in the last couple of years. Kuldeep Yadav too gets added to this list now. If he bowls well with the red cherry now, he will be a real asset for Team India in this Test match.

Bangladesh has got off to a dismal start as Umesh Yadav and Mohammad Siraj have bagged 2 wickets right at the front. The momentum is with Team India and they would be hoping to wrap things up pretty quickly. Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav would be looking to bowl in tandem and pick some quality wickets for KL Rahul’s side.
