Chris Woakes likely to miss the T20 World Cup due to knee surgery: Reports

England fast bowler, Chris Woakes will undergo knee surgery on Thursday, potentially ruling him out of the T20 World Cup in Australia in October.

Thanks to various injuries to his shoulder, knee, and ankle, Woakes has bowled only nine overs since England’s March tour of the West Indies – all in a Second XI game for Warwickshire a month ago.

Now a cartilage tear in his left knee has prompted surgery and if his recovery time is slow he might also miss out on the T20I series against Pakistan in September.
