Double hat-trick Boosts Malinga T20I rankings

Sri Lanka’s sling action bowler Lasith Malinga struck four wickets from New Zealand with four balls. For MRF Tyres’ most recent ICC Men’s T20I Bowler Rankings, he has skipped 20 places to No.21.

The rankings got released on Saturday, 7th of September, when the T20I three-match series was ended with New Zealand winning at 2-1. Malinga has become the first-ever bowler to take four consecutive wickets with four balls in T20Is and ODIs. He scored the figures 4-1-6-5 as the Sri Lankan team won by consolation 37 runs in Pallekele. This was his fifth international hat-trick. With his first wicket, Malinga has become cricket’s first male bowler for the 100 T20I wickets.

All-rounder Colin de Grandhomme from New Zealand top-scored a massive 103-run achievement in the series within 3 innings. He has leaped over 43 places and ranks at No.80 for batting. Furthermore, he made it to top 20 for MRF Tyres ICC T20I All-rounder Rankings. During the second T20I, he scored the highest for New Zealand, with a 46-ball 59 chasing 162, which allowed a 2-0 head start for the visitors.
