In the third t20 played in North Sydney in Oval, Australian Women were able to clean sweep the Sri Lankan women in a match that seemed to be one sided from the start of the innings. Australian women won the match by 132 runs and dismantled the Sri Lankan women team badly. Whereas the women of the match was none other than Alyssa Healy who scored a blistering knock of 148 runs not out in just 61 balls and created a new world record. This day will be written in the books of history now. Due to her lightning quick 148 runs, Australia was able to put a huge score of 226 runs on the board in their 20 overs. The target was very difficult to achieve but was not impossible to get. Sri Lanka tried their best but failed miserably as the target seemed to be very high for the Sri Lankan women.
Breaking the previous record:
The previous highest score was 133 and this record was held by Meg Lanning. Alyssa Healy this milestone against the English Women’s team. In the 3rd t20, Alyssa Healy smashed the bowler with a huge six in the 19th over and broke this previous record of Meg Lanning. Healy was in form from the start and smashed fifty runs in just 25 balls. However to score another 50 runs she only consumed 21 deliveries and completed the century. The Australian women reached the landmark of 100 runs in just first 11 overs of the match with only one wicket down and set a base for a huge total. Whereas Alyssa continued to strike the bowlers all over the Oval and set the team’s score to 226 that was very difficult to chase for any team.
