IPL 2023: Will Rajat Patidar eyeing for big comeback in upcoming auction?

Rajat Patidar, making his debut for India A, produced a blistering century in the opening encounter. On the third day of a match against New Zealand A, this batsman gave the team the lead by scoring a century. New Zealand A went all-out in the first innings after reaching 400 runs thanks to Joe Carter’s 197-run effort. On the third day, India took the lead by outscoring the visitors.

On Day 3 of the four-day match against New Zealand A at Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy Stadium, Rajat Patidar led India A’s strong batting effort with an unbeaten 170 off 241 that contained 14 fours and four sixes.

A strong partnership for lead

India A squad battled back against New Zealand A on day three and was able to grab the lead. Rajat Patidar then followed Abhimanyu Easwaran in scoring a century. For India A’s response to 400 runs, captain Priyank Panchal and Abhimanyu put together a solid partnership of 123 runs. After being dismissed for 47 runs, the skipper came back, and Ruturaj Gaikwad too lost his wicket. Together with Abhimanyu, Rajat then advanced the innings, and he made it memorable by becoming the first player to score a century.

Patidar and Abhimanyu Easwaran, who both scored hundreds, later put up an uninterrupted 167-run partnership with Tilak Varma (82*), as India A entered Stumps on Saturday, September 3, at 492/4, leading by 92 runs.

Patidar and his brilliant knock

Rajat, who advanced to India A in domestic cricket and the Indian Premier League, had a brilliant debut. In the very first game he played, he scored a century. The batsman smashed five fours in 73 balls to reach his half-century and then 10 fours in 143 balls to reach his century. In the Ranji final against Mumbai, he had also made a century in the first innings. Regarding the IPL, Rajat got a century for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator match against Super Giants.
