India returns to the country with a historic series win against Australia. Now, their next assignment is to host England across all the formats. Recently, BCCI announced the squad for the first two-Tests. And, the hosts have suffered a big blow as their star all-rounder has been ruled out from the series against three-lions. The southpaw fractured his left-thumb while batting in the first innings of the 3rd Test. This is the reason why he was ruled out from the series decider. Ravindra Jadeja was on fire with bat and ball throughout T20I, ODI, and Test series.

As per the reports, Ravindra Jadeja will not be part of the four-match Test series. And, the final decision on his availability for the T20I and ODI series will be taken in the upcoming days. Earlier, the Indian all-rounder had also shared a post his surgery. He took to his official Twitter handle and shared a still with a caption that read, “Out of action for a surgery completed. But will soon return with a bang!.”

Coming onto the squad for the first two Tests against England, Virat Kohli is returning into the squad after finishing his paternity leaves. Ishant Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah also mark their return to the side after recovering from their respective injuries. Also, the off-spinner Axar Patel has also got a reward for his brilliant performance while playing for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020.

Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar and Mohammed Siraj were picked as the replacement of frontline injured bowlers during the Border-Gavaskar series. They have successfully managed to retain their places in the side on the back of their world-class performance.
