IPL 2023: 3 Big Players Available With Less Base Price

Date:

On December 23 in Kochi, the IPL auction 2023 is scheduled to take place. 991 players have signed up for the major event. With a squad size cap of 25, the teams can only offer contracts to a total of 87 cricketers, 30 of whom may be from overseas.

The upcoming star-studded event, IPL 2023 auction will let players choose their basic pricing, much like all past auctions. The top 20 registered players for IPL 2023 auction, including Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, and 19 others, have maintained a salary of INR 2 crore.

While the majority of elite players have maintained their base prices in line with expectations, a few T20 stars have underpriced themselves. Know the top 3 players who kept their base price low for IPL 2023 auction

Mayank Agarwal

Mayank Agarwal IPL Auction

Mayank Agarwal has repeatedly shown his mettle in the Indian Premier League and is probably one of the best opening hitters on the Indian circuit. The 31-year-old has played in 113 games, accruing 2327 runs with a 134.28 strike rate.

Punjab Kings spent a stunning INR 14 crore to retain the Bangalore-born player for the 15th iteration of the lucrative T20 competition. Mayank, however, fell short of his high expectations and managed to score just 196 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 122.50.

Mayank has the capacity to wipe out high-caliber strikes and can also right the ship when his team is in trouble. The sly stroke maker is a superb spin and pace player, and even a bad season couldn’t diminish how brilliant of a player he has been in the lucrative league. The fact that the star batter set his base price at INR 1 crore for the 2023 IPL auction caught everyone by surprise.

Manish Pandey

Manish Pandey IPL Auction

In order to improve their middle order for the Indian Premier League in 2022, Lucknow Super Giants choose Manish Pandey. The Indian hitter, however, was unable to produce results with the bat. The 33-year-old could only muster 88 runs in six matches for the Lucknow team, scoring at a strike rate of 110.00.

Manish didn’t perform up to par, so the Lucknow franchise chose not to keep him for the following competition. As a result, the Nainital-born player will be auctioned off in the IPL 2023 event. It’s interesting to note that the right-handed batter has maintained his INR 1 crore price range for the main event.

In the lucrative T20 tournament, Manish has accumulated 3648 runs in 160 games at a strike rate of 121.52. The veteran player with grace at the bat helps to stabilize the batting order with his addition. Numerous teams might be motivated to sign him at the upcoming auction as a result.

Harry Brook

Harry Brook IPL Auction

With his scorching performances throughout the T20 circuit this year, Harry Brook has ignited the competition. The 23-year-old scored 264 runs in 10 games during the Pakistan Super League 2022 with an astounding strike rate of 171.43. Then, in the T20 Blast 2022, Brook shredded bowling lineups, scoring 436 runs in 13 games at a strike rate of 163.91.

When the England batter could have easily maintained himself in the top category, it was unexpected to see Brook maintain his basic price at INR 1.5 crore given his stocks’ spectacular surge. At the IPL auction 2023, fans might see teams bidding hammer and tongs to sign the ace hitter.
