The renowned Indian cricketer MS Dhoni’s time playing for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League is probably coming to an end in the 2023 season. After the 2023 season, the 41-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is anticipated to end his playing career.
Dhoni is expected to retire after the upcoming season, therefore CSK will need to find a replacement for the great leader who has led them to two Champions League victories and four IPL championships.
However, according to former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, who has played for CSK for more than ten years, CSK might definitely go for all-rounder Sam Curran in the IPL 2023 auction because, in his opinion, the star all-rounder could succeed Dhoni and lead CSK in the future. The other top players in the CSK setup who can lead the team in the future include Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, and Devon Conway.
“CSK really want him(Sam Curran) in their set-up because he has done really well in the World Cup. He has got great leadership qualities as well. CSK can look for a captain in him in the future,” Raina told Jio Cinema.
